October, 2007 New SiteHi Everyone.
We have added another kid to the family. So here's a link to the new site.
See you there.
Wade June, 2006 Summer in the CityThe summer is going great for Eva and the family. We went to the zoo. Eva seems to like the zoo more each time we visit. She is amazed at many of the animals, and loves to make every animal sound possible. SHe fell asleep by the end of the day.
Now that Heather is home for the summer, Eva has turned into a bit of a mama's girl. They are best pals.
Last Sunday we took down a swingset next to Eva's grandpa, and reassembled it in our backyard. It has a swing and a slide, which she loves. I will have to get some pictures of her.
...PS...In the June photo album, there's some pictures of us along the Ohio River in Newport at my Aunt's concert.
March, 2006 Making Up For Lost TimeIt's been a while!
Several months have gone by since I've updated Eva's Space. I apologize for that lapse, and will try to make more regular updates. She is 19 months old as of February 12th, and isn't slowing down.
Eva is getting big. She's still near the 85th percentile for height. Just thinking of the other progress she's made in the last 3 months is amazing. She is beginning to speak in phrases, has mastered the word "no", and is starting to throw many little "fits" as we say. She wants everything to go her way.
Her daycare has been good for her. Her development should be pretty much on schedule. She knows most of her colors, most animal sounds, and many letters and numbers. She seems to love learning new things. She still loves Dora and Blue's Clues, for she watches the episodes in their entirety.
Eva is still a delight to have around. She is generally good natured, loving, and happy. We are looking forward to the spring so we can all go outside to play. Being trapped in the house for the winter gets old for everybody.
Well that's it for now. August, 2005 The First BirthdayHere are some pics from Eva's Birthday in July. She was a little unsure what was going on. About 35 people showed up for the now annual event. She did the traditional cake eating, and mom found a pinata to hang.
August, 2005 Pool TimeThis summer I have had a lot of time to take Eva swimming. She is a little tneetive when she first gets in, but soon she splashes around and giggles. Here we are in the pool at my parents house. August, 2005 Welcome Note!Welcome to Eva's Space!I have created a page dedicated to my daughter Eva. Her mother, Heather, and her have endured quite a struggle in her 1 year of existance. Eva was conceived a few months before I was deployed Iraq for a year. Everyday I spent overseas I thought about how I couldn't wait until I could come home and help raise the little one. During times like that the importance of family and friends is felt deep down. Without them Heather would have had an even more difficult time. In Iraq I focused on my work and counted down the days one by one. My guard unit had a good duty assignment with the 1st Infantry Division. The 1st ID displayed why they are one of the best divisions in the Army. They showed extreme professionalism, knowledge, and dedication in helping the Iraqi people improve their lives toward a free and sovereign Iraq. I returned home in July of 2004 to see little Eva Catherine Yuellig born. She was 8lbs0oz and 21 inches long. Shortly after returning home from the hospital, I had to return to Iraq for the rest of my tour. Heather sent me pictures, via e-mail, as often as possible. Pictures couldn't truly display how wonderful Eva was, but brought me an idea of the joy she has brought into our lives. I returned home in February of 2005. Heather had little Eva all dressed up ready to meet her Dad once again. I quickly adjusted to fatherly duties to the best of my ability. Dirty diapers and tiring days still couldn't break me down like being seperated for a whole year. Eva now knows her father almost like I was never gone. Here are some pictures of my living situation in Iraq. We had it pretty nice compared to some other soldiers. The biggest blessing of all was the fact that all soldiers in my unit returned home safely.
